He also felt that being able to skate was "unusual." The Olympics is the pinnacle of figure skating. In reaching that point, he felt the support of many people and realized at the Pyeongchang Olympics that he was not doing it alone.

"I think it was a really pleasant ending. I don't remember much, but in the end, I raised my clenched fist and said 'thank you' to the ice rink. In the end, I was satisfied and was crying when the gold medal was decided. I think that's the difference from the Sochi Olympics."

It was a refreshing smile that seemed to be released from the bottom of his heart.
